Lori Messenger is an award-winning Senior Medical/Scientific Illustrator and Manager of Medical Illustration Assets at the New England Journal of Medicine. She has been with the Journal since 2000 and has over 42 years of experience in the field of Medical Illustration. Lori is a board-Certified Medical Illustrator (CMI) and active professional member and Fellow of the Association of Medical Illustrators (FAMI). She served on the Board of Governors, was the Chair of the Professional Exhibits Committee and received the Outstanding Service Award in 2025. She is also a member of the GNSI. Lori holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Medical and Biological Illustration from the Cleveland Institute of Art and CWRU School of Medicine.
